It was discovered that four police officers guarding the Tokyo Olympic Games venue in Tokyo were infected with the new coronavirus.

All of them are support units dispatched from local areas.

Infection with the new coronavirus was confirmed by a total of four police officers in their 20s and 30s at the Hyogo Prefectural Police Headquarters dispatched to Tokyo as a support unit.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, four people were guarding at the same competition venue in Tokyo, but a police officer in his thirties complained of symptoms such as fever on the 23rd, and a PCR test revealed that it was positive.

After that, the other three people also complained of poor physical condition one after another, and all of them were confirmed to be infected.

The four were dispatched earlier this month and were staying at a police facility in Fuchu, Tokyo, so according to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, there are no close contacts, including athletes and tournament officials.

The four are currently being treated at another police facility, and the Metropolitan Police Department is also waiting at the facility for 15 other police officers who have been in contact with them.

At the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, about 12,000 police officers have been dispatched from all over the country as support units, and the number of confirmed infections is now six.
