American actress Fran Drescher (63) is in the race to become the new chairman of the actors' union SAG-AFTRA.
Drescher does not have
on the support of her former colleagues from hit series

Actor Charles Shaughnessy and actress Madeline Zima are campaigning for Drescher's opponent Matthew Modine and his running mate - the run-off candidate - Joely Fischer.
Shaughnessy played Drescher's boss Mr.
and Zima played the role of Grace Sheffield, the youngest daughter of the family.
Also, the preference of actress Renee Taylor goes to the rival team, she is behind Fischer's appointment as secretary-treasurer.
Taylor played Drescher's mother in the series.
Drescher will compete with her running mate Anthony Rapp, known from the Netflix series
Star Trek: Discovery.
The winner of the race for the presidency of SAG-AFTRA takes over from actress Gabrielle Carteris. She is known for the television series
Beverly Hills 90210
and has been leading the union since 2016.
