Over the past few days, various parts of Henan have been hit by heavy rains. Hebi City in the northern part of the province has experienced multiple rounds of heavy rains, causing the water level of the Weihe River flowing through Junxian County to soar. On the evening of the 22nd, the dyke burst and many nearby villages and farmlands were flooded Fortunately, the villagers moved safely in time.

In the early morning of the 24th, a reporter from Chinanews.com drove to the site of the incident. Along the way, he saw swaths of farmland and farmhouses soaked in floodwater.

The water level in part of the low-lying part of County Road 004 in Junxian County that arrived at the scene was over the calf, and some agricultural tricycles and trolleys stalled in the water waiting for rescue.

The main road in Dock Village, Xinzhen Township, which is about one kilometer away from the breach, has now become a staging and transit point for rescue vehicles and materials.

The officers and soldiers from the Hebi Detachment of the Armed Police put the gravel and mud pieces transported here into woven bags or steel cages, and then transported them to the Weihe embankment by vehicles.

After arriving at the breach on foot, the reporter found that the water at the breach was still turbulent, but its width was reduced compared to the previous day, and the original soft and muddy embankment was covered with a layer of flat stones.

“The gate of the breach was nearly 40 meters wide at its widest. At present (at 4 pm on the 24th) it has been blocked by 25 meters.” Ye Xiaopei, the commander of China Aneng Group, who was in charge of the on-site command, told reporters that the original dam was soaked in the flood for a long time Heavy equipment is easy to cause settlement during the passage, which is not conducive to the blockage operation. Therefore, the staff tamped the road and ensured the transportation of materials, while throwing stones at the top of the crevasse to stabilize the section.

At around 10:30 in the morning of the same day, the rescue "artifact" used to transport the trapped people in Xinxiang-the emergency power pontoon bridge was once again put into the breach and blocked the site.

According to Li Zewen, an on-site rescuer of China Aneng Group, considering that the road on the other side of the breach is narrow, which is not conducive to the entry of heavy equipment, the use of power pontoon bridges can quickly transport equipment and materials to the site, and two-way operation can speed up the blocking speed.

At the rescue site, Liu Peng from the Zhanghe Upstream Administration Bureau of the Haihe Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources and several colleagues set up a total station and held a radar gun to monitor the water velocity and area of the breach in real time to ensure the organization and development of the blocking operation. As of press time, the breach in the Weihe Section of Xinzhen Town, Junxian County is still being blocked. (Finish)
