On the afternoon of the 24th, a man in his 60s in Osaka, who was visiting the beach, drowned and died off the coast of an island in Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture.

Around 2:30 pm on the 24th, a fire department was notified that "a man who was bathing offshore was drowning and had cardiopulmonary arrest" on Okinokarani Island in Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture.

A fire department rescued the man and took him to a hospital in the city, but was confirmed dead about an hour and a half later.

According to the Himeji Maritime Security Department, the person who died was Hiroshi Ito (62), a self-employed person living in Suita City, Osaka, who visited the beach with a friend from the morning of the 24th, and was about 5 kilometers away from Okinokarani Island at that time. It means that he was swimming alone offshore.

The Japan Coast Guard is investigating the detailed situation at that time, assuming that he accidentally drank seawater and drowned while swimming.
