• On Facebook and Twitter, many Internet users share a video showing four police officers accompanying a man to what appears to be the exit of a cultural establishment.

  • According to their comments denouncing a "repression", he would have been expelled from a media library for failing to present the health pass.

  • This legend is authentic: the scene took place in Limoges (New Aquitaine), Thursday, July 22, as

    20 Minutes

    could verify

    .

“4 police officers bring out [from a media library] a man whose only crime is not to have his pass of shame!

The law is not even adopted yet that the repression has already taken off ”,“ So, it is not beautiful the world after?

Police officers expel a man from a media library because he does not have a health pass ”…

The indignant comments multiply, on Facebook and Twitter, in reaction to a video of about twenty seconds showing a man accompanied by four municipal police officers towards what appears to be the exit of such an establishment, in absolute silence.

The scene, which particularly shocks opponents of the health pass, is authentic: it took place at the BFM (French-language multimedia library) in Limoges (New Aquitaine), as confirmed by the municipality at

FAKE OFF

"It happened yesterday, a person came to the media library and refused the health pass control that we apply since its entry into force", indicates the city, the libraries and other media libraries included among the cultural establishments welcoming to the at least 50 people where the health pass is required since July 21.

“This gentleman forced entry, the director then intervened to try to reason with him but he didn't want to hear anything. There were people at the BFM at that time so the director called in the municipal police, who took the person out in a calm atmosphere, ”adds the municipality of Limoges, which regrets the incident while it had "very quickly informed the public on the modalities of access [to cultural places] after the last government announcements".

Failing to force the passage, visitors passing through the media library on the day this restriction entered into force did not hide their dissatisfaction with this restriction, as they then confided to our colleagues from France Bleu.

To the dismay of the media library, which explained at the same time receiving "emails [from residents telling us] that they will no longer set foot at the BFM as long as there is the health pass".
