Suffers from "axial hypersomnia" .. Indian sleeps 3 weeks every month

An Indian man suffers from a strange neurological disease that causes him to lose consciousness and sleep for up to 3 weeks out of every month.

According to the British newspaper, "The Times", Bukharam Devi, 42, suffers from "axial hypersomnia", in a case when a nap turns into a long period of sleep.

Symptoms first appeared on him 23 years ago, shortly after his marriage.

At first, Davy used to sleep for five or six days before waking up.

When it got longer, his wife and mother became very worried, but they had no money to visit a hospital.

And his family consulted a doctor after he had been sleeping for a whole month, only to be told by the doctor that he had never seen anything like this before.

In order to feed him, his family shakes him vigorously twice a day so that he sits upright, and his family bathes him in his sleep, and he does not get up to go to the bathroom and his family has to clean it.

Despite sleeping too much, Davey says he doesn't feel rested. "I'm sore, tired and have headaches," he says.
