"I turn the page, and that's it, the thing is finally said
:" In an interview,
observes Nathalie Léger,
Marguerite Duras gets a little angry:
"
The self-portrait, I do not understand what that means. , I don't understand. How do you want me to describe myself? Who are you, go ahead, answer me, eh?
""
Who am I, me
? That's the question I now have to answer. "

“Suddenly, in the middle of the crowd,” Curtis says again, “a woman or a man climbs on the table and asks that we please listen to him. To me, that is a writer. Writing is a solitary gesture, incredibly daring, incredibly risky, and to attempt it you have to be driven by excessive pride or bottomless despair. You would amaze me if you weren't disappointed with your latest book - what artist isn't disappointed with the finished work? If the disappointment weren't there, you wouldn't get back to work. You are chasing something that you will never catch, but at least while you are running you are living. Go on, I am with you, I am with you. »
