Hubei girl 667 minutes to realize the dream of Peking University archaeology major: want to touch the most vivid history

In this year's college entrance examination, Shi Bijun, a girl from the Fourth Middle School in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, scored 667 points, ranking 28th in the province's liberal arts.

But unlike other high-scoring candidates, she did not choose the popular university majors nowadays. Instead, she followed her heart's love, and finally filled in the archaeology major of Peking University.

On July 22, Shi Bijun found out her admission result, and she was successfully admitted to Peking University as a major in archaeology.

"I just like to major in archaeology. I want to become a true archaeologist in the future." Shi Bijun admitted to The Paper frankly that although the cultural relics are static, they are actually alive.

The seemingly boring archaeological work is actually touching the most vivid history, which makes her yearning.

In the eyes of many people, archaeology such as "unpopular" majors does not seem to be the ideal choice for the college entrance examination.

The learning process requires a lot of knowledge accumulation. To become an expert, you have to sit on the bench for many years.

Last year's college entrance examination, the news that a left-behind girl Zhong Fangrong from Hunan was admitted to Peking University as a major in archaeology with a score of 676 aroused public debate.

Shi Bijun told The Paper that last year Zhong Fangrong's persistence actually gave him the strength to stick to his dreams.

Shi Bijun's parents were opposed to her daughter's professional choice at the beginning.

"I am worried about her future employment prospects." Shi Bijun's mother said bluntly.

But after repeated communication, the parents finally decided to support their daughter's choice and let her pursue her inner love.

Cultural relics make history alive

In 2003, Shi Bijun was born in a family of intellectuals in Xiangyang, Hubei.

My mother is an English teacher in a junior high school, and my father works in a government unit.

In her opinion, developing the habit of reading is the biggest influence parents have on them.

"My parents like to read books. Our family has a lot of books. I would read with them when I was very young." When he was still in kindergarten, Shi Bijun started playing in the pile of books and would find some books to read from time to time.

It is this seemingly casual reading that inadvertently opened the door to the world.

A book of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" gave Shi Bijun a keen interest in the history of the Three Kingdoms period, and she began to trace the footprints of that period of history through other related books.

In addition to reading, visiting museums has also become another way for her to understand historical figures in depth.

In the summer vacation of the third grade, Shi Bijun, who was traveling to Chengdu, walked into the Sichuan Museum for the first time, where she saw with her own eyes the belt hook (the belt buckle of the ancients) used by Jiang Wan, a famous minister in the Three Kingdoms period.

The strap hook is made of bronze. There are dragon and phoenix patterns and five regularly arranged star points on the hook body. After years of baptism, the inlaid turquoise stone has fallen off.

Jiang Wan is one of the four phases of the Shu Han, and has made outstanding contributions to the politics of the Shu Han.

The belt hook in front of you is full of life, not only connecting the two ends of the leather belt, but also connecting the history and the present.

Shi Bijun recalled that the moment she saw the hook, Jiang Wan was no longer a character in the book, but a vivid and three-dimensional image in her heart.

"I found out that I can get very close to him, even if it's just a small hook, as if I saw Jiang Wan in a court dress standing in front of me."

The mysterious feeling of connecting with ancient people through cultural relics deeply attracted Shi Bijun.

Jiang Wan's tomb has gone through more than a thousand years of history, and it was once "destroyed in the wild smoke and grass", and was visited by tomb robbers in history.

It was only after 1949 that the cultural and museum department discovered Jiang Wan's belt hook.

In Shi Bijun's view, the continuous excavation of cultural relics is also her passion, and the dream of studying archaeology took root in her heart.

In high school, out of concern for archaeology, Shi Bijun used his spare time to watch some documentaries on cultural and museum subjects.

Among them, Zhao Zhen, a photographer who photographed the terracotta warriors and horses in the third season of "National Treasure", left a deep impression on her.

During a job, Zhao Zhen accidentally found the fingerprints of the craftsman left on the faces of the Terracotta Warriors.

At that moment, Zhao Zhen felt that he was connected with the craftsmen of 2000 years ago.

"The kind of throbbing feeling he described made me especially look forward to and yearning." Shi Bijun, sitting on the other side of the TV, secretly made up his mind that he would also engage in archaeology in the future.

Steady and steady, accumulate thinly

In the eyes of the head teacher Li Hougang, Shi Bijun is a "steady and steady" child.

When she entered the school, she was ranked about 1,000 out of 1,800 people in the school.

Later, after the arts and sciences were divided, she gradually began to accumulate.

Li Hougang recalled that in the first year of high school, Shi Bijun's examination results were probably ranked five or six hundred in the grade.

In the second year of high school, her grades began to improve.

When she first entered the history class, she was ranked about 100 in the grade. By the third year of high school, she slowly went from the 50s and 60s to the 30s and 40s, and then to the top 20. She had also taken the exam at the best time. First grade.

"Rather than paying attention to the rankings, it is better to fill in the loopholes in your knowledge." Faced with the ups and downs in performance, Shi Bijun's mood inevitably fluctuates.

But by the third year of high school, she began to slowly adjust her mentality.

After making it clear that he wanted to study archaeology, Shi Bijun set the goal of entering Peking University.

Peking University is the first institution of higher learning in my country to establish an archaeology department, and it is also a top institution in China.

In order to realize his ideals, after each test, Shi Bijun insisted on finding out the knowledge loopholes he exposed in the test.

Not only does she correct her mistakes, she will also find similar questions to train.

Review the entire knowledge points and fix the loopholes.

"To improve learning efficiency, you have to keep up with the teacher's pace." Shi Bijun gradually formed his own learning method.

From his mother's perspective, Shi Bijun has been a child who has a strong sense of what he believes since he was a child.

However, Shi Bijun, who walked out of the college entrance examination examination room this year, did not have much confidence in his own results.

"This year's Chinese and English test papers are more difficult, and political and geographic difficulties are not small. My judgment on the difficulty will affect the performance of the test." At first, Shi Bijun felt that he could only test more than 620 points.

"667 points, 28th in the province's liberal arts."

Until the moment he learned his college entrance examination score, Shi Bijun still couldn't believe it.

Such a high score could have chosen a more popular major, but Shi Bijun still wanted to go to Peking University to study archaeology.

Her idea soon met with opposition from her parents, who were worried about the prospects for employment in archaeology.

As the mother of a middle school teacher, she has taken many grades of students. In her impression, most of the high-scoring students are still the first popular majors for good employment.

"She has a more lively character. We are afraid that the archaeology major is too boring, and her interest will not last too long." The mother also said another level of concern.

In Shi Bijun's view, not all professions can be measured by material or money.

"The outside world has some prejudices towards archaeology, but archaeologists have made great contributions to the inheritance and protection of Chinese culture." In the end, with Shi Bijun's persistence and the introduction of teachers from the admissions group of Peking University, his parents were finally persuaded and chose Support her daughter's decision.

Don't be a "lying flat" youth

In September of this year, Shi Bijun will start his university time at Weiming Lake.

Peking University is full of talents and the competition for learning is fierce. This summer, Shi Bijun has started to study introductory textbooks such as "Introduction to Archaeology" to lay the foundation for professional learning.

Shi Bijun said that he would have a sense of peace. During the university, he first refused to be a "lying flat" young man, and worked hard to learn professional knowledge and be in line with outstanding classmates.

"I hope she will make full use of the resources of Peking University and become a person who contributes to society."

Shi Bijun's mother also raised expectations for her daughter's college life.

"I remember your thousands of years of history, and I like the way you look now." On the first day of the last year, Shi Bijun went to Beijing for the first time. The city's rich history and cultural heritage made her intoxicated.

Now that she is about to start a new chapter in her life here, Shi Bijun is also very much looking forward to her university life. She wants to use her spare time to visit the cultural museums in Beijing.

Archaeological work on the front line often takes root in remote areas and needs to endure loneliness and suffering.

However, Shi Bijun quoted the words in the "Analects" to express his attitude towards archaeological work: "One food, one drink, in the back alleys, people feel uncomfortable, and they will not change their joy when they come back."

This post-00 girl is convinced that the archaeological profession she loves contains great cultural charm. After four years of professional training and accumulation at Peking University, she will definitely be able to find her own place in the field of archaeology.

"I want to be a true archaeologist. Even if I won't have a high income in the future, it's definitely not a problem to meet my basic life. To touch the most vivid history, my spiritual life must be abundant." Shi Bijun said.
