is said that the Hunminjeongeum Haeryebon, which contains the principles of the creation of Hangeul, will be produced as a non-fungible token, NFT, and will be sold for 100 million won each.

The Kansong Museum of Art, which has owned the Hunminjeongeum Haerye, has announced that it will make the Hunminjeongeum into an NFT and sell it in a limited edition of 100 pieces, worth 100 million won each.

NFT refers to the use of blockchain technology to give unique recognition values to digital content, and it is the first national treasure in Korea to be produced with NFT.

The museum explained that it is 'to permanently preserve it as a digital asset, while raising a fund for the preservation of cultural heritage and the operation and management of the museum'. There is a reaction mixed with such concerns as to whether even this national treasure is being used for commercialization.

The Kansong Museum of Art last year revealed its financial difficulties by putting up two treasured Buddha statues at auction.

The Cultural Heritage Administration said that 'the NFT of a national treasure is not a case in Korea' and 'we will comprehensively review it including legal grounds'.
