Late at night on July 21, eight piping hazards of varying degrees occurred in the Tangyin section of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, Anyang, Henan, and the joints of the concrete slope protection were uplifted.
The officers and soldiers of a brigade of the 83rd Army rushed to the location of the piping, laid more than two hundred meters of geomembrane on the choke ditch and the dam, and used expanded sandbags to reinforce the cement embankment, effectively preventing the danger of piping.
