"Over the past day, July 22, 92 forest fires were liquidated in Russia on an area of 19,042 hectares," RIA Novosti quoted the message.
It is noted that the most difficult situation with fires is observed in Yakutia, where 112 fires were recorded on the lands of the forest fund on an area of 709 570 hectares.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the department's aviation performed 36 water discharges per day to extinguish large wildfires in Yakutia.
The Hydrometeorological Center predicted that the situation with forest fires in Yakutia will significantly improve thanks to the rains that will come to the region at the end of the week.
