It is known that SM Entertainment's largest shareholder, Lee Soo-man (69), general producer, donated a luxury villa in Gangnam to Mr. A (52), a Korean female foreign correspondent.

On the 21st, Biz Korea reported that Lee Soo-man, executive producer, donated a luxury villa worth 5 billion won to Mr. A in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul in March. Executive producer Lee purchased the villa for 3.97 billion won in 2015. A single apartment of the same type of villa was traded for 4.9 billion won in May of this year.

Mr. A is a foreign correspondent from the Seoul branch of a North American broadcaster that delivers news from Korea. He appeared on TV and was introduced as a reporter with beauty and intelligence, and is a famous person who also published a book. In addition, he hosted the cultural industry forum sponsored by SM for the second year.

Regarding the fact that this general producer donated a large amount of real estate to Mr. A, the relationship between the two people is raising questions. However, since Mr. A belongs to a foreign media company, it is believed that this gift does not violate the Kim Young-ran Act (Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Solicitation).

Regarding this case, SM Entertainment made a statement saying, "It is not related to work and cannot be confirmed."
