For the first time, the government has clarified the amount of reduction estimated for each field in order to achieve the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in 2030 by 46% compared to 2013.

The policy is to reduce more than 80% of the total from energy consumption in industries and households, and then secure the target reduction amount by reducing plastic waste.

The government has set a new greenhouse gas reduction target announced in April to reduce emissions in 2030 by 46% compared to 2013.

The amount of reduction, which is 648 million tons in terms of carbon dioxide, has not been shown in concrete terms so far, but it was found by interviewing the people concerned that the first estimation was completed.

According to this, by promoting the introduction of renewable energy based on the draft energy basic plan announced on the 21st, about 173 million tons from industrial energy consumption and about 138 million from household energy consumption. It is trying to reduce tons.

Furthermore, by taking measures such as transportation, the amount of energy-related reductions is expected to be about 555 million tons, which is 86% of the total.

On top of that, we anticipate a reduction of approximately 36.5 million tons by strengthening the collection of "alternative CFCs" that are used in refrigerators and have a strong greenhouse effect, and by reducing the amount of plastic waste that is incinerated and disposed of. ..

In addition to absorbing approximately 47.7 million tons of carbon dioxide through forest maintenance, etc., we will also utilize the "bilateral credit system" that provides Japanese technology for global warming countermeasures overseas and shares the amount of reduction between the partner country and Japan. By doing so, we estimate that we will be able to achieve our goals.

The government says it will not be easy to reach the goal of 46% reduction and will consider specific policies in the future.
