In the past 24 hours, more than 18,000 new cases of contamination have been recorded, a figure that had not been reached since mid-May, according to the latest data published by Public Health France on Tuesday.
Faced with the increase in contaminations, in particular due to the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, is due to speak on Wednesday at 13 Hours of TF1.
A speech that comes as the extension of the health pass, to all places of culture and leisure bringing together more than 50 people, comes into force this Wednesday, to control the epidemic without closing the establishments welcoming the public.
