The Chubu Odan Expressway is an expressway that starts at Shin-Shimizu Junction in Shizuoka City and reaches Nagano Prefecture via Kai City in Yamanashi Prefecture.
The section connecting Shizuoka and Yamanashi, 74.3 km, was originally planned to be fully opened in 2017, but construction was difficult in some sections due to the influence of the ground, and both were at the Nanbu interchange and the lower part in Yamanashi prefecture. Construction is still ongoing at 13.2 km between the hot springs Hayakawa interchange.
Regarding this section, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced on the 21st that it will open at 4:00 pm on August 29, saying that the pavement work on the road surface has progressed smoothly.
Regarding the opening of the entire line four years later than originally planned, the Kofu River National Highway Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said, "I am sorry that the opening was delayed due to difficult construction. I want to do it safely. "
