  According to the news from the Information Service of the Special Administrative Region Government on the same day, Carrie Lam, accompanied by the Chairman of the HKBU Council and Advisory Council, Chen Zhenren, and President Wei Bingjiang, visited the Chinese Medicine Pharmacy Laboratory, the Cancer Inflammation Research Center and the Chinese Medicine Specialty Clinic to learn about its development and operation .

  According to reports, HKBU's School of Chinese Medicine has advanced laboratory equipment and abundant data. It is a base for modern Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment and new drug research and development.

The college has established a number of research centers. The Cancer Inflammation Research Center is one of them. Through the theories of Chinese medicine and the clinical diagnosis and treatment experience of experts and scholars, combined with modern science and technology, the cause and treatment of various common diseases are studied.

In addition, the college has a total of 17 clinics throughout Hong Kong to provide the public with high-quality Chinese medicine diagnosis, treatment and health care services.

  Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that HKBU is a pioneer in higher education in Chinese medicine in Hong Kong. She is very pleased that HKBU has been selected as the contractor of Hong Kong's first Chinese medicine hospital through an open tender, which is expected to open in 2025.

In addition, HKBU also participated in the establishment of "Health@InnoHK" in the Hong Kong Science Park, which focuses on the research and development of medical technology.

  Afterwards, Carrie Lam and her entourage were transferred to the Department of Music of HKBU to visit the Creative Media Research Facility-Science and Art Fusion Laboratory.

Creative media research is one of HKBU's key interdisciplinary research fields. The Science and Art Fusion Laboratory has reached the international standard of 3D immersive audio-visual and equipped with multiple screens. It is the first facility of its kind in the Asian higher education sector.

  Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that Hong Kong has advantages in culture, art and innovation and technology. The National 14th Five-Year Plan also clearly supports Hong Kong's construction of an international innovation and technology center and the development of cultural and artistic exchange centers between China and foreign countries.

She believes that the integration of art and technology has become a new trend in the world. For this reason, she proposed the development of art and technology in the 2020 Policy Address.

The SAR government has established an inter-departmental art technology task force to formulate strategies and measures for the development and promotion of art technology, and encourages the active participation of relevant sectors.
