On the night of the 18th, two helicopters on board the Maritime Self-Defense Force's escort ship accidentally contacted each other while flying over the Pacific Ocean for training.

The blades of the rotor blades of both aircraft were damaged, but the Maritime Self-Defense Force is investigating the detailed situation because no one was injured.

According to the Maritime Self-Defense Force, at around 10:20 pm on the 18th, the "SH60 patrol helicopter" mounted on the escort ship "Kirisame" and the escort ship "Kaga" on the Pacific Ocean about 300 km east of Amami Oshima in Kagoshima Prefecture. They came into contact during the training flight.

In this accident, one of the rotor blades was damaged in both aircraft, and they stopped training and returned to their respective ships on their own.

There were a total of eight SDF personnel on both helicopters, four each, but no one was injured.

It also means that no parts fell from both aircraft.

The SH60 patrol helicopter is an aircraft equipped with special equipment for detecting submarines, and the Maritime Self-Defense Force is investigating the detailed situation at that time by listening to each pilot.
