  The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation and the birthplace of the Chinese civilization. It originated in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and flows from west to east through 9 provinces including Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Henan and Shandong.
