As the opening of the Tokyo Olympics approaches, a Uzbekistan suspect working as a staff member at the National Stadium was arrested for sexually assaulting a female staff member in her twenties inside the stadium.

The person arrested was Davronbek Rahmatullaev, a 30-year-old Uzbek college student who lives in a hotel in Tokyo.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, it is suspected that a Japanese woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted near the spectators' seats at the national stadium, which is the main stadium of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, around 9 pm on the 16th.



The suspect was working in a media cafeteria on the stadium grounds, had an ID card for the people involved, and the victim woman was also working part-time at the stadium.



According to the people concerned, on the night of the 16th, the national stadium was rehearsing the event to be held at the competition, and the two were watching the rehearsal after work.
