On July 17, the Guangdong Provincial Transportation Group announced that after nearly 3 hours, the super-wide and variable-width steel shell immersed tube E29 section of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Super Project Deep-Medium Corridor Project was smoothly twisted out of the dock on the 16th.
According to reports, the E29 pipe section is the fourth ultra-wide, variable-width asymmetric structure pipe section on the curve axis of the deep-medium channel immersed tube tunnel. The average outer width of the pipe section is about 49.7 meters, and the length of the pipe section is 124.2 meters. It weighs about 60,000 tons.
