The closing ceremony of the 74th Cannes Film Festival began where it should have ended, Saturday July 17, with the announcement in the form of a blunder of the Palme d'Or for the sulphurous film "Titanium".

Julia Ducournau, the director, did not immediately take the stage to accept her award.

The ceremony continued with other awards as Spike Lee took his head in his hands.

Frenchwoman Julia Ducournau is the second female director to win the supreme award, with one of the most sexual and violent films ever screened in Cannes.
