In her first statement after the storm of controversy and the attitudes it provoked over the past days, the Egyptian artist, Hala Shiha, thanked everyone who supported her in her recent crisis, pointing out that she is against extremism, whether in the name of religion or art.

Hala published a picture of her with a headdress with her daughter on "Instagram", and commented: "I would like to thank all the beautiful people for their beautiful encouraging messages... and I would like to thank all the press that published the fatwa of the Fatwa House today. My position is the same as her position, which explains that acting and art in general is like any A profession in this world is permissible and forbidden. And I do not like to be part of any kind of extremism, whether in the name of religion or in the name of art. If the Representative Professions Syndicate rejects Dar Al-Ifta’s clear position, congratulations to me for removing it for my membership.”

And she added, "As for the inappropriate talk about the wages... all those in the field witnessed that I was apologizing for a large number of artworks, and I was accepting wages lower than what suited me in cooperation with the work makers... and I originally did not receive the last part of my wages in the film when it was late in its arrival I started to change and reform...because frankly speaking about (large wages) made me laugh.”

She continued: "I am an artist by nature, from my childhood, and all who know me know my love for art. I always express myself with my artistic talents when I love, but what is new is that I will not do this at the expense of what I believe in seriously, as I said recently.. I do not attack anyone or fight." No one, nor am I better than anyone, and I do not advise anyone before I advise myself first, and we all make mistakes, no one is infallible.”

Dr. Ashraf Zaki, the captain of the acting professions, said in a telephone interview with the media, Amr Adib, on the “Al-Hekaya” program, that “there is no place for the artist, Hala Shiha, in the union, and this is a lesson for everyone who claims that art is forbidden.”
