The latest development of the water penetration accident in the construction section of the Shijingshan Tunnel in Zhuhai: the trapped persons still cannot be contacted
Yesterday (15th) around 3:30 in the morning, a water leakage accident occurred in the Shijingshan tunnel construction section of the Zhuhai Xingye Express (south section) project, resulting in 14 construction workers being trapped.
At 13:00 this afternoon, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province held a press conference to report the latest progress in the rescue of the flooding accident.
Zhang Yisheng, Deputy Mayor of Zhuhai City, notified that after the water penetration accident occurred in the Shijingshan tunnel construction section of the Xingye Express (south section) project, after all rescuers worked day and night, rescue work has made certain progress.
Measures such as cofferdams for permeable points, combined with forced pumping and culvert drainage, are adopted to reduce the water level of the reservoir.
As of 12:00 on July 16, the rescue operation surface had advanced 395.3 meters into the tunnel, 764.5 meters away from the trapped point, and the water level in the tunnel continued to drop.
The trapped persons still cannot be contacted.
