In Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, the annual "Watermelon Village" where farmers sell their specialty watermelons in temporary tents has been held and is crowded with many shoppers.

"Watermelon Village" is open every year by farmers in the Hata area of Matsumoto City, which is known as one of the leading watermelon producing areas in Nagano Prefecture, and has started on the 10th of this month.

Watermelons of various sizes, weighing 5 to 13 kg, are lined up in a temporary tent set up in the open space in front of the "Aguri Material Center" in Wada, Matsumoto City.

From the morning of the 15th, families and others visited and bought one after another while hitting the watermelon and seeing the colors.

According to JA, although the temperature of this watermelon was low in early spring, the temperature was high since the beginning of summer, so the watermelon is finished as big as usual.

"Watermelon Village" in Matsumoto City will be open until the 16th of next month, but the tasting of watermelon has been canceled to prevent infection with the new coronavirus.

A man in his 60s in Matsumoto said, "I feel summer when I buy a watermelon. I want to enjoy it with my family."

Yoshiaki Momose, the mayor of "Suika Village," said, "It's delicious as usual. I've worked hard to make it, so I want many people, from children to the elderly, to eat it."
