The summer school custody is coming

The parents cheered and the teacher was a little entangled

The Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau recently issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in Summer Custody Services for Primary School Students", proposing to carry out a pilot project of in-school custody services for primary school students during the summer vacation this year.

As soon as the news came out, the parents hailed and joked that there was finally an "official baby" in the summer vacation.

What are the expectations of the parents for the school trusteeship, and what do the teachers think?

A few days ago, all media reporters from Guangzhou Daily conducted investigations and interviews.

Parents are most concerned about the quality of hosting

A few days ago, the reporter conducted an investigation on the summer school trusteeship for parents and teachers.

The results show that parents are full of expectations.

Nearly 70% of the interviewed parents indicated that they are willing to register their children for summer school care.

Among the parents who are unwilling to sign up, most of the reasons are that "the child does not want to go back to school during holidays" and that "the quality of care in school is relatively average".

There are also parents who are more sympathetic to teachers, saying that the reason they do not plan to sign up is that they do not want to add too much burden to the school and teachers.

There are also parents who expressed “hope that their children stay at home a little longer” and “let the children have a real vacation” and so on.

For the custody time, more parents choose the option of 9:00-17:00. Nearly 90% of parents hope that the custody can solve the lunch and lunch break problems by the way.

Compared to sending their children to training institutions, more parents still prefer on-campus care, accounting for about 74%.

Nearly 90% of parents hope their children can participate in comprehensive quality courses instead of just doing homework in school.

Sports courses are the most popular

In terms of courses (multiple choices), physical education courses are most favored by parents, accounting for nearly 90%.

More than 80% of parents hope their children can use the summer vacation to be quiet, participate in calligraphy courses, and practice their calligraphy well.

Although the education department has made it clear that the school trusteeship will not organize subject training during the summer vacation, there are still parents who want teachers to guide homework.

Forty percent of the interviewed parents hope that children whose school grades really can’t keep up will be allowed to make up lessons during the custody period, and to make up for the missing knowledge points in the summer.

In addition, there are parents who want to offer programming classes and labor education classes.

From the survey results, parents are very concerned about the quality of care, and 80% of parents hope that quality courses can introduce high-quality institutions and teachers, so that their children can really learn.

The teacher hopes that the service time will not be too long

Compared with the unanimous applause of parents for the summer school trusteeship, teachers who want to take a good rest during the vacation are in a bit complicated mood, but some teachers said that if they do receive a task, they will still take care of the overall situation.

About 88% of the interviewed teachers said that they hope that the service time will not exceed one week, so that the summer vacation will not be seriously "shrinked".

If a trusteeship task is arranged, 50% of the teachers express that they are only willing to serve basic trusteeship.

As for the daily service time, most teachers also chose the shortest option of 9:00-16:00, accounting for nearly 60%.

In terms of remuneration, nearly 70% of the teachers interviewed said that if the service is based on trusteeship, the daily remuneration should be more than 200 yuan.

If it is a quality course, the proportion that requires more than 200 yuan per day is even higher, close to 90%.

But in fact, I don’t really care about rewarding teachers.

More than 80% of the teachers interviewed stated that the willingness to participate in the service has nothing to do with the level of remuneration.

For the suggestion of in-school care in the summer vacation (multiple choice), 60% of the teachers interviewed hope to control the number of children, and only children who really need it will participate.

Nearly 30% of teachers believe that teachers who voluntarily participate in the service can be given a certain degree of preference in the evaluation of excellence.

78% of the teachers interviewed suggested that teachers should be allowed to dissuade students who are difficult to manage.

Principal: Let young teachers take the lead first

In response to the survey results, the reporter interviewed some teachers, and they all expressed their understanding of the newly launched summer school trusteeship.

Teachers accompany their children for a long time, and there is a lot of communication between home and school, especially knowing that dual-career families are not easy.

One teacher said that for dual-career families, summer school care is a good thing.

"Parents have to go to work. If there are no elders in the family to take care of the children, the parents are willing to take the children to the school to take care of them, so they can go to work with peace of mind and take the children home after get off work." The teacher said.

But teachers also have concerns, not only because the summer school custody will increase the workload of the school and teachers, but also because teachers need this holiday.

"Some teachers have a little discomfort during the semester, but because of'a carrot, a pit', it is inconvenient to go to work and take a vacation. They wait for the winter and summer vacations to take care of them. It is hard to avoid waiting until the holidays come. The teacher is not willing." Some principals said that the summer is a holiday. "If the teachers are not motivated to come back to participate, they can only let everyone take turns."

A principal told reporters that the teachers are looking forward to the summer vacation because they need to spend this time to recuperate their body and mind.

The principal said that if teachers are asked to return to school during the summer vacation to participate in the trusteeship work, “some teachers are still somewhat unwilling, but teachers can understand such a policy. Schools will also choose to be more motivated and older. Light, more energetic teachers should be driven first.” However, if the summer school trusteeship is to be carried out for a long time, the school will introduce corresponding policies and systems in the future to reward or encourage teachers who are willing to take on trusteeship work during the holidays.

It is recommended to introduce a third party agency

Many principals told reporters that in-school trusteeship during the summer school still needs to properly introduce an off-campus trusteeship agency.

A principal did not approve of direct management by the school. He believed that under the guidance and education of teachers for a long time, students would have some disadvantages to their growth, especially their psychological growth.

"When children see the teacher, they may still have a kind of pressure to learn, and they will feel that they are still in school." If an off-campus trusteeship agency is introduced, these third-party organizations can carry out the trusteeship of their expertise, interests and hobbies, and improve the development and The development of physical and mental health is more beneficial.

Many principals suggested that the school and third-party institutions should be combined in the work of summer school management. The school provides venues and facilities, and the school’s teachers assist in the management, so that the third-party institutions can do more services after entering the school. In place.

"Third-party organizations will come up with many ways to organize students well. They will devote their efforts to make students live meaningfully in the school and ensure their safety. The school can give advice in the process."

Although many principals suggested the introduction of third-party institutions by appointment, they have different opinions on the issue of who is the main and the auxiliary.

Some principals believe that schools should be the mainstay and third-party agencies should provide assistance.

When the school conducts summer school custody, it can be divided into categories and set up different custody items.

On this basis, “introduce teachers from a third institution to assist the school in hosting art, sports, science and technology or other content, so as to make parents feel more at ease and secure to send their children to the school for hosting.”

A principal suggested that when arranging summer school schedules, it is necessary to clearly distinguish between free and charged.

"Because the students in grades 1 to 5 have different ages, the needs of different age groups are different. Parents are given space to choose, and participation in these time periods is free, such as sports activities, reading, or homework during vacation. Students have needs if they need it. , You can also choose to charge personalized content." But the principal also admitted that this operation is not small, because "everyone has their own ideas."

Some principals also emphasized that even if it is a summer school trusteeship, parents cannot completely rely on the school and teachers. "Parents should really make good use of the vacation and spend more time with their children. Especially in elementary school, parents’ company and growth of their children is very important. Blindly handing over to the school and teachers, although it is more convenient to work during vacations, it is not very helpful to the children’s growth. favorable."
