According to reports, on September 21, 1997, Guo Xinzhen, the 2-and-a-half-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Guo Gangtang (male, 51 years old) in Liaocheng, Shandong, was taken away by a stranger while playing at the door of his home. His whereabouts are unknown.
After receiving the call, the Liaocheng public security organs set up a task force to carry out a large number of investigations, visits and visits, and collected blood samples of Guo Gangtang and his wife, and checked the DNA information entered into the "anti-trafficking DNA system."
However, limited by the conditions at the time, the case could not be solved in time.

"When DNA technology began to be used in anti-trafficking work in 2000, we collected the DNA information of Guo Gangtang and his wife in time for comparison. The task force carried out further investigations around its related parties and found that his girlfriend Tang (female, 45 years old, from Shandong) was suspected of committing a major crime, and the public security organs arrested Tang in a certain place in Shanxi.
After interrogation, Tang confessed to the crime of abducting and selling Guo Xinzhen with Hu Mou in September 1997.
In front of a large amount of evidence, Hu Mou finally pleaded guilty and truthfully confessed the facts of the crime.
According to investigations, in 1997, Hu and Tang met and fell in love. In September, they planned to abduct a boy for money while traveling in Shandong together in September.
On September 21, the two rushed to Liaocheng, Shandong. Hu was waiting near the bus station. Tang went out to find the target of the crime.
