California battles wildfires with 'goats'

In anticipation of the fires that burn large areas in California annually, firefighting teams in the state use the heads of goats that are tasked with grazing the grass;

To rid the land of any flammable plants, and protect nearby homes from fire.

Within a day, authorities deployed a herd of about 80 goats on land around Glendale Heights, near Los Angeles.

The task of these animals is to graze grasses;

To prevent the spread of fire to homes.

2020 was the worst year in California's modern history for fires; The fire destroyed more than 1.5 million hectares of forested areas. With frequent heat waves and climate change, the authorities fear that these natural tragedies will become the norm.
