The conflict over the guardianship of Britney Spears continues and this time, it is no longer the singer who opposes her father, but her personal guardian.

If Jamie Spears manages the affairs and finances of his daughter, Jodi Montgomery, a sworn tutor, has been in charge of the personal side of the popstar's life since 2019. And the latter, in turn, has grievances against Mr. Spears.

Legal documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight indicate that Jodi Montgomery criticizes Jamie Spears for refusing to increase her security, even though she is threatened with death.

"Mr. Spears, as guardian of the fortune, and Mrs. Montgomery, as guardian of the person, should work as a team to ensure that Miss Spears' interests are respected, that she is on the way to healing and the end of her guardianship, and that she is living the best life possible.

Instead, Mr Spears decided it was time to start pointing fingers and attacking the media (he even took issue with Ms Montgomery's safety as she faces death threats) , transforming what should be a protective procedure for her daughter into litigation, ”one can read in the documents filed in the Los Angeles court.

Return the ball

Earlier this month, Jodi Montgomery said she had been targeted by recurring death threats since the testimony of Britney Spears.

The singer indicated that she no longer wished to be subject to this tutelage, and that she was the victim of abuse from her guardians, in particular from her father.

Jamie Spears defended himself by saying that the additional $ 50,000, which would be necessary to ensure the safety of Jodi Montgomery, would cost the singer much too much, especially since other people are victims of similar threats, like his former lawyer Sam Ingham, or Jamie Spears himself.

"If the court orders the Conservative estate to pay for Ms. Montgomery's 24/7 live security services, as she asks, Mr. Spears argues that fairness should dictate that anyone who claims being threatened should have the same security services as Ms. Montgomery, ”replied Jamie Spears' legal team.

For her part, Britney Spears is busy finding a new lawyer.

Sam Ingham, who had been mandated by the court to represent her, decided to resign to respect the wish of the star to choose herself the people who should defend her interests.
