[Explanation] On July 11, the 2021 18th China Pengzu Fuyang Festival opened in Pengzuyuan, Xuzhou, Jiangsu.

  [Explanation] As the highlight of the opening ceremony of China's Pengzu Fuyang Festival, famous culinary chefs from all over the country gathered in Pengzu Temple to worship the originator of cooking, Pengzu.

At the scene, hundreds of culinary masters dressed in uniform and bowed their salute.

  [Explanation] The so-called "Fuyang" refers to the mutton after entering the Vu.

The Pengzu Fuyang Festival in China is a local traditional food culture in Xuzhou. It lasts for a month starting from the day of the fall in the fall season each year.

  Fuyang, Fuyang, is to eat mutton during Futian, because Futian is the hottest in summer, but eating Fuyang can cure winter diseases.

  [Explanation] Since 2004, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province has held the Chinese Pengzu Fuyang Festival every year, attracting foreign tourists to Xuzhou to share Fuyang delicacies.

  [Explanation] According to reports, China’s Pengzu Fuyang Festival has become a summer "carnival" for Xuzhou citizens and a "new folklore" for Xuzhou people. Every year, as many as 1 million direct participants come to Xuzhou to "eat Fuyang". There are more than 500,000 foreign tourists and international friends.

  The Pengzu Fuyang Festival has a profound cultural background. The custom of Fuyang Fuyang originated from Pengzu and was most prosperous in the Han Dynasty.

  [Explanation] In 2008, Pengzu Fuyang Festival won the title of "China's Top Ten Food Festivals".

In 2009, Xuzhou was recognized as the "Hometown of Fuyang Food in China" by the Chinese Cuisine Association.

On May 24, 2021, "Xuzhou Fuyang Food Custom" was included in the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects.
