Senegal will embark on the production of anti-Covid-19 vaccines. A first financing agreement was signed on Friday July 9 for a manufacturing plant which is to be commissioned in 2022. A project implemented by the Institut Pasteur in Dakar, with the aim of supplying part of the continent. A step towards "

 », While Africa only produces 1% of its vaccine needs.

Since the start of the pandemic, the continent has received doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, made in India, as part of the Covax device.

But it is not approved by the EU.
