[Explanation] On May 10, 2021, the helicopter piloted by Liu Hong crashed while fetching water from the bucket of Erhai Lake in Dali, and unfortunately 4 people on board died.

Recently, the reporter walked into the Kunming Air Rescue Detachment where Liu Hong worked before his death to learn about their heroic stories.

　　[Explanation] Liu Hong's crew is a helicopter crew consisting of four comrades, the captain Liu Hong, the co-pilot Li Kaitao, and the air mechanics Liu Chao and Sun Zhongjie. Four martyrs completed the 8-day "4·27" Cangshan and Bin Dali. After two forest fire fighting missions in Sichuan, he once again fought to help the fire site in Wanqiao Town, Dali City.

On May 10, when Liu Hong's crew was taking water from a bucket in the Erhai Lake, the tail rotor control rod in the helicopter tail reducer accidentally broke, causing the tail rotor to fail. After full disposal, it failed to escape and eventually fell into the Erhai Lake and was unfortunately sacrificed.

　　We could not call him from the plane or from the radio. We called him for about 20 minutes. During the process of returning to the airport, the Dali Airport that asked for permission agreed to return to the place where the incident occurred, which is our work site. Along the western edge of the Erhai Lake, we flew for more than 30 kilometers to search for. Helicopter wreckage was found near the operation point of our water intake point, and the coordinates of the accident site were reported to Dali Airport to organize ground rescue.

　　[Explanation] Before his death, Liu Hong and other four people, as the backbone talents of the aviation rescue industry, successively came from the "Daqing Oil City" to the "Southwest Spring City" to support the formation and development of the Kunming Aviation Rescue Detachment. They were all dedicated to the aviation emergency rescue business.

But it is this love that makes them feel guilty about their families. Liu Hongchang said, "Forest firefighters belong to the country first, and then to the small family."

　　Since May 10th, every officer in our detachment has five more sons since that day, their father, our Liu Hong crew, and four martyrs. Although they died, we Kunming Air Rescue The detachment is here, our team is here, with people like us, no matter how many years have passed in the future, as long as our team is here, all the commanders and fighters of our detachment will never forget that we have five sons.

The commanders and fighters visited the survivors of Liu Hong's crew and helped them solve their difficulties in life.

It is understood that the ashes of Martyr Liu Hong are buried at the foot of the mountain where the Kunming Air Rescue Detachment is located, guarding the land where he once worked, and guarding his teammates who once fought together.

　　[Explanation] The four martyrs gave their precious lives to protect the green mountains and green waters of the motherland. Afterwards, by analyzing the black box of the plane, at the last moment of the crash, there was a voice shouting "Stop! Hold on! Don't move, I'll come," I’m here.” This sentence was the last sentence said by the captain Liu Hong. They used their lives to fulfill their oath of “loyalty to the party, strict discipline, go through fire and water, and serve the people wholeheartedly” with their lives.

Their sacrifice further strengthened the strong belief of the majority of commanders and fighters in the national aviation emergency rescue cause.
