Al Safa Art and Design Library will host the “Letter and Word” exhibition, organized by the Emirates Society for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Decoration, in cooperation with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and will continue until July 25, with the participation of elite calligraphers of different nationalities.

Khalil Abdul Wahed, Director of the Fine Arts Department at Dubai Culture, indicated that the cooperation between Dubai Culture and the Emirates Society for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation comes within the framework of Dubai Culture's constant keenness to cooperate with all cultural authorities in the country, and to support events and events. organized by it, by making available its public libraries and the assets it sponsors to host the various activities that would contribute to making culture available everywhere and for everyone, and stimulating the active participation of all segments of society, in line with the Authority’s strategic objectives.

Abdul Wahed added: “This cooperation is in line with our efforts to preserve our Arab and Islamic heritage, and through it we aim to support promising local talents in this field of arts, encourage them for more creativity and expression, and make their works available to a wide audience to enable them to savor the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and ornamentation. The Islamic world, which contributes to the prosperity of artists and their launch towards broader horizons, in turn contributing to enriching the cultural and artistic scene in the emirate, and enhancing its position as a global cultural center.”

For his part, Khalid Ali Al Jallaf, President of the Emirates Society for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation, explained that one of the association's goals is to encourage its members of calligraphers to be creative in practicing the art of Arabic calligraphy through competitions, exhibitions and courses it organizes.
