'I Want to Know' traces the truth of the Mapo officetel detention murder case.
With the subtitle of 'I want to know that', which will be broadcast on the 10th, with the subtitle 'In the name of a friend, the truth of the Mapo officetel confinement murder case', we dig into the reason why a 22-year-old young man had to be imprisoned and killed because he could not escape the constant violence of his friends. .
On the morning of June 13, a man in his 20s was found dead in an officetel in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Paramedics and police officers who arrived at the scene at the report of a friend who lived with them, Ahn, were stunned by the horrific sight. The victim's wrists and ankles had clear traces of repeated strapping, and bruises indicating continued violence remained all over her body. He was also found in a cramped toilet, with two paper cups each containing rice and a small amount of water placed on the toilet water tank.
All these clues seemed to be the context of long-term confinement. Above all, the victim's weight at the time of death was only 34 kg.
Park Min-joon (pseudonym), a 22-year-old young man, died in pain in a narrow and dark bathroom. What was shockingly revealed as a result of the police investigation was the fact that the culprits who brutally murdered Min-jun were Ahn and Kim, who lived with him. Ahn even called 911 at the time of Minjun's death. It turns out that the three people who lived in the same house, including the deceased Min-jun, were all of the same age, Kim was Min-jun's high school classmate, and Ahn and Kim were friends.
After the production team of 'I Want to Know' traced the actions of these three people, they were able to meet eyewitnesses who sensed their mismatched relationship about 10 months before the incident. People I met around the officetel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, where they lived, around August last year, remembered Min-jun, who was particularly small. According to eyewitness testimony, Mr. Ahn and Mr. Kim said that they did not appear to be in a normal relationship, such as throwing slippers at Min-jun, mopping him, and harassing him.
Min-Jun's whereabouts are found at a convenience store in Seocho-gu on November 4, three months later. Min-jun, who was caught stealing drinks from a convenience store, was handed over to the police. A police officer who was dispatched to the scene at the time said, "I wonder what he is doing. It's November, and he's wearing short sleeves. His clothes are droopy and he's wearing those clothes.
At a time when many eyewitnesses paid attention to Min-jun, who was not ordinary, Min-jun's father did not know the whereabouts of his son at all, so he reported that he ran away. After Min-jun was handed over to the police due to a convenience store incident, I barely made contact with my son. The production crew had a hard time meeting Min-Jun's father, who said that his son and his best friend was Mr. Kim.
After reporting the disappearance, the son was able to meet again by contacting the police. However, at the time, his son, Min-jun, was not in a normal condition. The father, who took his son to the hospital, found out that he had fractures in various parts of his body, including his ribs. The father suspected that someone had assaulted him.
At that time, there were people who came to the house, made a riot, and threatened them. These were the friends Kim and Ahn who had been with Min-jun. They demanded that Mr. Min-Jun be compensated because he broke the expensive laptop. According to eyewitnesses, the same story was told not only to Min-jun's father, but also to neighbors and acquaintances of the officetel in Yeongdeungpo-gu.
The father wanted to know whether these claims were true, whether Min-jun had to suffer such violence and harassment due to the laptop incident, and why his son had to die so sadly while he was imprisoned without even asking for help.
As they continued their coverage to uncover the truth between the three, the production team discovered a striking fact in Min-Jun's cell phone information. There were as many as four additional mobile phones opened under Min-Jun's name. In addition, from August last year to June this year, there were about 100 micropayments. The production team secured and analyzed the details of the 500 calls remaining on Minjun's cell phone.
'I want to know', which will trace the truth about what actually happened between the three, will be broadcast at 11:10 pm on the 10th.
