[Explanation] On July 10, the "Hong Kong Patriotism Education Summit Forum" co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, Hong Kong Takung Wenhui Media Group, and Bauhinia Magazine was held in Hong Kong.
The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam pointed out in her speech that there was no systematic patriotism education in Hong Kong before and after the return.
A work to promote national education in schools has been stigmatized by people with ulterior motives and the media, and this has undermined the students' concept and recognition of the country. It is deeply regrettable.

It is only natural for us to love our country in ancient and modern times, and betrayal of our country is regarded as a very serious crime, which is intolerable by nature.

In recent years, some people with ulterior motives and external forces have used Hong Kong’s more complicated social and political situation to deliberately mislead young people’s understanding of the country, obscure their national identity, and even intensify their thinking and advocate extreme behavior.
For this reason, we must work together to promote patriotism education in Hong Kong and promote the spirit of patriotism, so as to correct the values of young people.
[Explanation] Carrie Lam appealed to the Hong Kong education sector to strengthen guidance and focus on promoting patriotic education and care and support for young people to help young people grow up healthily.
