[Live sound] Hold up, yes, you don’t need to help yourself up, so powerful my brother, I thought you can get up without supporting, really good, great, turn around and go out and see, then you have to give You are greatly rewarded.

[Commentary] The patient who taught the child to stand patiently was Liu Xia, a rehabilitation technician in charge of the Children's Rehabilitation Department of Liutie Central Hospital, Liuzhou City, Guangxi.

Recently, she and her colleagues are helping a child with weak lower limbs to do rehabilitation training.

For more than 20 years, Liu Xia has been committed to helping children with special needs regain their athletic ability, so that patients and their families can better integrate into society.

[Explanation] In 2002, due to chance, Liu Xia was sent to the Rehabilitation Department of Hunan Children's Hospital for advanced studies.

There, Liu Xia saw the head nurse teaching a 7-year-old boy who could not stand to learn to crawl. Although the boy was full of saliva, the head nurse did not dislike it at all and kept encouraging the boy.

This professionalism moved her and she gradually fell in love with the job.

[Explanation] After the training, Liu Xia returned to the hospital to open a children's rehabilitation department.

Liu Xia mainly treats children with cerebral palsy, autism and other diseases, and she does rehabilitation training for them, and encountered many problems during the period.

In that era when telephone bills were still very expensive, it was common to call and consult with experts out of pocket. It was common to spend tens of yuan at a time.

Thanks to the efforts of Liu Xia and her colleagues, many children with cerebral palsy and dyskinesia recovered health and led normal lives. Some of them had excellent grades and were admitted to key middle schools.

He also has severe cerebral palsy (a child). The child came to us at 6 months and came with scissors. He stood on tiptoe when he was picked up, and he couldn't fall flat at all.

Just help him relax, correct his shoulders and feet, and use the whole foot exercise (recovery). After we recover, he can’t see it anyway, he can’t see it at all, but his arch is not very good, so he has an insole in it , The physical education results are almost inferior, and he is now the child who was admitted to the Iron No. 1 Middle School (key middle school), and his (study) scores are very good.

[Explanation] When doing rehabilitation training, Liu Xia is sometimes accidentally injured.

When these special children are undergoing rehabilitation training, they will suffer physical pain and sometimes resist, often scratching Liu Xia's hand.

But seeing the children slowly recovering and returning to school, Liu Xia felt that everything was worth it.

Just like the orthopedic shoes that the child wore just now. There are movable joints behind the orthopedic shoes, and the hands will be pinched. Once the flesh is pulled apart, the tears will come out. This kind of injury will occur, but you must also understand the child. Blame him, he didn't mean it.

[Explanation] When the patient's family encounters difficulties, Liu Xia will also help as much as possible.

Because families with special children are often the one who works and supports the family to take care of the children, there are often children who are forced to give up treatment in the middle, which makes Liu Xia feel uncomfortable.

Although she is not in the hospital for treatment, Liu Xia has been providing rehabilitation guidance to patients' families remotely through telephone and video.

In order to reduce the burden on patients’ families, Liutie Central Hospital has applied to become a designated body organization of Liuzhou Disabled Persons’ Federation. Children trained here can receive a daily subsidy of 95 yuan, which can help more families.

[Explanation] Because of families with special children, parents and children have greater psychological pressure.

In order to better help patients and their families, Liu Xia studied psychology by herself, using what she learned to help patients and parents with psychological counseling.

Because (rehabilitation) requires a long-term process, they will also have time when they are impatient, like a child will be very injured, even if his mother dislikes him, he will also be very injured, just like we have a child and will think of committing suicide. .

He said that his mother liked her younger sister because her younger sister was a healthy child. She didn't like me anymore and I didn't want to live anymore. He would have this idea.

Later, I decided to learn (psychology) knowledge, whether or not I can pursue (psychology) major, at least I can provide psychological counseling for parents and children.

I hope that the children are mentally healthy, can return to society happily and live a life that a normal person can live.
