"Over the past day on July 9, 122 forest fires were liquidated in Russia on an area of 8,782 hectares," RIA Novosti is quoted as saying.
It is noted that the most difficult situation with fires is observed in Yakutia, where 137 fires were recorded on an area of 520 720 hectares.
Earlier it became known that a detachment of firefighters from Avialesoohrana arrived in Chukotka to help fight forest fires.
