After obtaining the exclusive license for the original drama adaptation, in April last year, the musical "The Pretender" was formally put into incubation creation by the Performing Arts World·Shanghai Musical Art Center.
The producer invited the original author Zhang Yong to act as the screenwriter. In addition to designing the plot based on the stage performance characteristics of the musical, he also comprehensively "upgraded" the entire story, adding extra plots that have never been seen in film and television works.
