The city of Lyon announced this Thursday that the fireworks of July 14 would be in the colors of the rainbow to symbolize "joy".

And no doubt the hope of finding a more normal life after 18 months of upheaval and health crisis.

The show, which will be launched at 10:30 p.m. from the Fourvière hill, should last 23 minutes.

It will be presented in seven two-minute tableaux, each dedicated to one of the colors of the rainbow.

Red for passion, blue for a more peaceful atmosphere.

“The sequence before the final bouquet will be entirely in rain of gold, to symbolize the return of the sun and the joy while the basilica of Fourvière will be set ablaze in shades of red with aerial fireworks that will accompany this setting. in the spotlight, ”revealed the municipality in a press release.

Eco-responsible fireworks

The fireworks will be eco-responsible since the bombs used by the Brezac company are in cardboard shell, 100% biodegradable.

To offset the show's carbon footprint, the latter has committed to planting four trees.

This will capture 600 kg of C02.

Finally, parking will be prohibited in areas included in the security perimeter, including Place Bellecour.

No derogation will be possible.

Wearing a mask will be compulsory in this area.
