According to the Pearl River Committee, at Wuzhou Station at 1 o'clock on July 5, there was a peak water level of 15.35 meters, and 12 rivers in the basin experienced super-alarm floods. Among them, the Liuzhou station on the main stream of the Liujiang River had a peak water level of 83.11 meters, which exceeded the warning water level by 0.61 meters. The flow rate reached 15,700 cubic meters per second, which was the first time this year.
In accordance with the development and changes of the flood control situation in the river basin, the Pearl River Committee promptly initiated a level IV flood control emergency response on June 29.
In addition, relevant departments and units of the Pearl River Committee have closely monitored the development of the flood situation since June 27, strengthened communication and coordination with relevant provinces (autonomous regions) and power grid departments of the river basin, scientifically and meticulously implemented the joint dispatch of the river basin reservoir group, and made every effort to deal with the flood situation in the river basin.
In response to the flood process of the main stream of the Xijiang River and the Liujiang River, the Pearl River Committee and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region water conservancy department implemented reservoir flood control dispatching in a timely manner, and made every effort to reduce the pressure on river basin and regional flood control.
Among them, the Pearl River Committee dispatched the Tianshengqiao I, Longtan, Guangzhao and other reservoirs on the upper reaches of the Xijiang River to hold 2.15 billion cubic meters of floodwater; at the same time, dispatched the Datengxia Water Control Project to pre-discharge to below 46 meters in advance to reduce the impact of flooding on the construction of the Datengxia Project Flood control pressure in Wuxuan County in the reservoir area.
The scientific implementation of joint dispatching of reservoirs in the middle and upper reaches of the Xijiang River successfully avoided the over-alarm at Wuxuan Station on the mainstream of the Xijiang River, reduced the peak flow of Wuzhou Station on the mainstream of the Xijiang River by 2,400 cubic meters per second, lowered the peak water level by 1.2 meters, and greatly reduced flood control in the middle and lower reaches of the Xijiang River.
