During the second state of emergency from January, it was found that the court imposed a fine of 250,000 yen on each of the four restaurants that did not comply with the time saving order of Tokyo as an administrative punishment.
According to the capital, it is the first time in Japan that a fine will be imposed based on the revised Special Measures Law for Coronavirus Countermeasures.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government issued an "order" based on Article 45 of the Revised Special Measures Law to 32 restaurants that did not respond to the request for shortening the working hours during the second state of emergency from January to March.
The capital had notified the court to impose a fine on the four stores that did not comply with this "order," but by the 6th, the court would impose a fine of 250,000 yen on each store as an administrative punishment. It means that I confirmed that I did.
According to the capital, it is the first time in Japan that a fine will be imposed on restaurants under the Special Measures Law revised in February due to the new fine.
The capital says, "This is the result of properly proceeding with the procedures based on the Special Measures Law."
On the other hand, the court does not disclose the name or location of the store because the court has not disclosed the procedure for imposing a fine.
