Previously, the film was shortlisted for the WIP Industry Development Unit of the 3rd Pingyao International Film Festival under the name "Another Summer". The reason why it was changed to the current title, director Liu Ze said, ""Another Summer" is particularly like a youth film. Later, I overheard the sentence "Parents are here, there is still a place in life; when parents go, there is only a way back in life." I changed it to "Where is the way home" and I felt very appropriate."

Liu Ze, born in Yuncheng, Shanxi, was deeply inspired by director Jia Zhangke. He tells the story of his hometown with a cordial accent, and uses delicate shots to externalize the emotions of the characters and arouse the resonance of the audience.

"Where is Home" is Liu Ze's first feature film written and directed by Liu Ze. It was shortlisted for the new director competition of the 44th Brazil International Film Festival in Sao Paulo, and the 38th Paris International Film Festival and other international film festivals.

The New York Independent Film Festival was founded in 1993 and is recognized by the industry as the largest independent film festival in the world today. It is well-known in the world for "the new voice of independent films".
