In the coastal area where the competition venues are concentrated as the opening of the Tokyo Olympics approaches, the Metropolitan Police Department will raise a balloon with a camera to warn suspicious persons from the sky.

The Metropolitan Police Department has decided to strengthen not only ground but also air alerts for the Olympics and Paralympics, and from the 6th, it will raise a balloon with a camera to about 100 meters above the ground to alert the surrounding area.

On the 5th, security personnel confirmed the operation of balloons and cameras before the start of operation.

The balloon is about 6 meters in diameter, and the attached high-performance camera can quickly detect the movement of suspicious people on the ground.

The captured footage will be sent to the Metropolitan Police Department headquarters and will be used to understand the congestion status of Olympic-related events.

The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will be held at 43 competition venues, mainly in Tokyo, and will be on the largest scale ever for security and vigilance, including support teams from all over the country and private security guards.
