The value of ancient books, cultivate children's correct values and imagination, and establish firm cultural self-confidence from an early age.
It is reported that this exhibition is the eleventh book China·Beijing Reading Season·Children's Reading Month series activities held in the 2021 Book China·Beijing Reading Season with the theme of "A New Journey of Reading A Century of Road Exhibition". One of the activities was guided by the Book China·Beijing Reading Season·Leading Group, hosted by the Propaganda Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, and jointly undertaken by Beijing United Publishing Co., Ltd. and Beijing Xinhua Culture Co., Ltd.

The reporter learned that the exhibition writing team selected 22 representative fairy tale works suitable for the interests of contemporary children from ancient Chinese books, rewritten them in vernacular, and drew exclusive illustrations based on the content of the story.
More works selected for the exhibition are unfamiliar works, showing the originality of the organizers. For example, the "Void Twisty" from "The Biography of the Monk" can let the children understand that it is about the creation of Andersen more than a thousand years later. The influence of the fairy tale "The Emperor's New Clothes"; from the "Ancient Yue Dujing" in the important work of the legend of the Tang Dynasty "Legend of Li Gongzuo", where the god of water is said to be the prototype of Monkey King in "Journey to the West"; from the famous notes of the Tang Dynasty The "Girl Ye Xian" in the novel collection "Youyang Miscellany" can help children understand the Chinese version of "Cinderella" that is many years earlier than the Western "Cinderella" story.
In addition, the exhibition also includes vivid and interesting fairy tales such as "Li Ji cut the snake" and "Nvhuacan" selected from the collection of "Sou Shen Ji" novels from the Six Dynasties.
