The late rainy season started the first weekend of July. It would be good for the coronavirus to be washed away by the rain, but first of all, you should prepare so that there is no damage from the rain. Heavy rain warnings have been issued across the metropolitan area. Let's call a reporter.

Reporter Han So-hee, please tell us about the rainy season.

Yes, I am on the street in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

It was raining heavily, but now the rain has gotten a little weaker.

People who filled the streets in the late afternoon were less crowded as the rain continued, so the streets are now rather quiet.

So far, it has rained up to 38mm in Seoul and over 120mm in Wando, Jeollanam-do.

The first rainy season of this year has started nationwide, and if you look at the disaster monitoring CCTV, you can see the rain and wind raging in Marado, Jeju early this morning (3rd), and the waves crashing along with the rain and wind in Suyeong Bay, Busan during the day.

A heavy rain advisory has been issued for the metropolitan area, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Honam and Gyeongnam coasts.

From the evening of the 3rd to tomorrow, it will rain 50mm to 150mm at the most in the central region, Jeollanam-do, the southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do, and Mt. Jirisan.

Heavy rain is expected, especially in the short time between tonight and tomorrow dawn.

In the metropolitan area, Chungnam area, and the west coast of Jeolla Province, it is expected that it will rain around 50mm per hour, which is about the same as pouring water with a bucket, and the western part of Gyeongnam and the south coast of Gyeongnam area will also rain as much as 30mm per hour.

River torrents, flooding and landslides are a concern.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has entered the first phase of emergency work, and local governments are strengthening monitoring activities for rivers with rising water levels and controlling access to the surrounding areas.

When passing through a flooded area, you must pay special attention to safety.

The heavy rain will stop for most of the day tomorrow, but light rain will continue until the day after tomorrow in the metropolitan area, Yeongseo, Gangwon, and some areas in northern Chungcheong and Jeju Island.
