Egyptian Iftaa: A wife is not entitled to fast what she missed from Ramadan without her husband’s permission

  The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa answered a woman’s question about “Does a wife have the right to fast what she missed from Ramadan without her husband’s permission?”

that the basic principle is that the wife must ask her husband’s permission to fast the voluntary fast that is frequently repeated;

Like Mondays and Thursdays, as well as in fasting to make up for what she missed from Ramadan as long as the time is extended, and the wife has the right to fast to make up without the husband’s permission in case the time is short so that there is no time left until the next Ramadan except what can only make up days.

The fatwa was based on the words of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, in “Tuhfat al-Muhtaaj fi Sharh al-Minhaj” (3/461, i. The Great Commercial Library): satisfied him).

The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa confirmed, according to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Watan, that spending Ramadan is obligatory for laxity, but that is restricted by the public not to enter another Ramadan. That I spend it only in Sha’ban, the work of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, or the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.”

And the house continued: “If he delays it without an excuse until the next Ramadan begins, then he is sinning, and he must, along with the ransom, have to pay the ransom: feeding one poor person for each day;

When it was narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas, Ibn Omar and Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with them, they said about the one who has to fast and did not fast it until another Ramadan came: He must make up for it and feed the poor for each day.”

She added: “As for the Hanafi school and the Hanbali view, the elimination of laxity is unfettered;

If another Ramadan comes and he did not make up the missed fast, the payment of the fast will take precedence over the missed fast, even if he intended to fast to make up for it, it only occurred after the payment, and he does not have to pay the fidyah by delaying it;

To release the text, and for the apparent meaning of the Almighty’s saying: “A number of other days.”
