Columnist Pierre Ménès will be leaving Canal + after 12 years of collaboration.

Suspended for several months on charges of sexual assault, the former journalist and Canal + have found a financial agreement according to "L'Equipe". 

Suspended for several months after being implicated in cases of sexual assault, sports columnist Pierre Ménès will finally leave Canal +.

The Canal Football Club columnist will not return to the encrypted channel at the start of the school year, according to the newspaper

 L'Equipe

, after twelve years of collaboration.

According to the sports daily, the two parties have found a financial agreement, after several weeks of negotiations.

Sexist behavior and sexual assault

The former journalist was dismissed from the air last March, after the broadcast of the documentary on sexism in the world of sports journalism:

I am not a slut, I am a journalist

In a sequence, censored by the channel but broadcast by other media including

 Les Jours

, Pierre Ménès was interviewed in an episode of 2016 where he had lifted the journalist's skirt on the set.

Other images, where he notably forcibly kisses Isabelle Moreau and Francesca Antoniotti had also resurfaced, arousing indignation.

The former columnist of the Canal Football Club then tried to justify himself on the set of "Touche pas à mon poste", on C8, but his ambiguous explanations and his wobbly defense had fueled the controversy.
