Pandemic The dangerous race of variants, which one predominates at the moment?
Health has notified that in the last 24 hours there have been
12,345 new
coronavirus
infections
.
According to the data, the
highest transmission rates
are concentrated in the age groups between 20 and 29 years (366.7 cases) and 12 to 19 (345.2).
Meanwhile, the
Delta variant
remains unstoppable in
Europe
, so much so that the German vaccine commission has recommended injecting a second dose of any
vaccine
based on messenger RNA technology.

7.00 German specialists recommend combining AstraZeneca with Pfizer and Moderna to stop the Delta variant
The German Vaccine Commission (STIKO) has recommended, against the spread of the
Delta variant
of the
coronavirus
, injecting a second dose of any vaccine based on messenger RNA technology after a first dose of
AstraZeneca
.
"The immune response after a
vaccination
scheme
" that combines the two types of vaccines is "clearly superior to the immune response" elicited by two injections of the
AstraZeneca
vaccine
, the commission explained in a statement.
The second injection should take place four weeks after the first dose of
AstraZeneca
, and it doesn't matter how old the patient is, STIKO said.
The commission relies, above all, on a British study that indicates that two doses of vaccines are, in principle, effective against the
Delta variant
of the
coronavirus
.
Instead, the efficacy of a single dose would be "considerably reduced" against that particularly contagious strain of coronavirus, the commission warns.
Now the government led by Angela Merkel will have to decide whether or not to follow this recommendation.
