The lychee, which is being cultivated for a new specialty of Miyazaki Prefecture, has entered the harvest season, and lychee hunting has begun at a farm in Shintomi Town.

At the farm in Shintomi-cho, about 1,500 lychee trees are planted in 12 houses, and the lychee fruits, which are about the size of a golf ball, are colored bright red.

Lychee hunting started on the farm on the 1st, and families and others visited one after another and picked lychee fruits with scissors.

Most of the lychees distributed in Japan are imported frozen lychees, so the precious "raw lychee" has a strong sweet scent and you can enjoy the elasticity of the popping flesh.

A woman who visited with her daughter from Miyazaki City said, "I came here for the first time because of the deliciousness that is incomparable to frozen ones. I want to eat soon."

Takayuki Ohno, an agricultural corporation that grows lychees, said, "I have made a better lychee than usual. I want everyone to know the deliciousness of raw lychees."

According to the farm, the harvest is expected to be about 4 tons this season, and lychee hunting can be enjoyed until the end of this month.
