As a countermeasure against heat stroke, which is an issue at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the Ministry of the Environment started operating a special site that publishes the "heat index" near the competition venue from the 1st.

This special site can be viewed from the Ministry of the Environment's "Heat Stroke Prevention Information Site" and started operation on the 1st.

This site publishes the actual conditions and forecasts of the "heat index" measured near all competition venues from Hokkaido to Shizuoka, and the information is updated hourly.

The "heat index" is determined based on temperature, humidity, etc., and according to the numerical values, there

are

five levels:

▽ "danger"

▽ "strict caution"

▽ "warning"

▽ "caution"

▽ "almost safe"

It can be divided.

It is said that the number of patients with heat stroke will increase significantly when the index reaches the stage of "strict caution" of 28 or more, and the Ministry of the Environment will cooperate with the Games Organizing Committee etc. when the risk of heat stroke is high. I am calling attention inside and around.

During the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics from July 23 to September 5, it is expected that there will be many hot days, and it will be a major issue to prepare for heat stroke while taking measures against infection with the new coronavirus.

The Ministry of the Environment says, "Because it is a tournament that involves many people such as athletes and volunteers, I want to properly convey information about the heat. I want you to use it for heat stroke countermeasures."
