"Lotus flowers on all sides and willows on three sides, a city with mountains and half a city lake." Since the summer solstice, the lotus flowers in the Daming Lake Scenic Area in Jinan have been blooming, attracting many citizens and tourists to come to enjoy the scenery.
In the "Rainbow Hall" in the Daming Lake Scenic Area, the lotus has been blooming for the first time, swaying in the breeze.
Lotus has an indissoluble bond with Jinan since ancient times. According to textual research, as early as the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Daming Lake had begun to plant lotus extensively.
The influence of lotus on Jinan people is very far-reaching. As early as 1986, Jinan City identified lotus as a city flower.
On July 1, Jinan's 35th Lotus Art Festival was held in the Daming Lake Scenic Area, Jinan's No. 1 Spring in the World.
In addition to nearly 20 lotus fields in Daming Lake for visitors to enjoy, this lotus art festival also set up 13 groups of small flower beds along the way from the east gate to the north gate of Daming Lake, the Chaoran Building, and the entrances and exits. There are more than 1,200 lotus pots on display. There are more than 400 pots and 150 varieties of lotus in the form of small sceneries.
